Welcome to the library's digital collection.

We subscribe to the following online services for our patrons to use at home or on the go. These resources are available exclusively to residents of the City of Ida Grove and rural Ida County and are supported by local tax dollars. To find out more about these resources and instructions for creating an account, click the links below. 

 

Bridges: Iowa's e-Library

The library subscribes to Bridges through a state-wide consortium; this helps to control content costs while allowing patrons access to a wide variety of ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, downloadable videos and much more available from home or on the go. To access Bridges, you can use either the Overdrive or the Libby App, available from your device's app store. Click on the icon below for more information on installing the apps and using these services.

Overdrive Advantage

Available July 1, 2021, the library will offer Overdrive Advantage; an add-on to our existing Bridges service which allows us to purchase additional titles on the Overdrive platform for use by our patrons. These titles will be mixed with other consortia titles, however will only be available for patrons utilizing the service through their Ida Grove Library Card. Simply sign into Bridges as you normally would through the Overdrive app or Libby app and enjoy the additional titles under the "available now" checkout option. 

 

Kanopy


Available July 1, 2021! Kanopy delivers quality, thoughtful streaming entertainment. Find movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films and educational videos that inspire, enrich and entertain. Kanopy offers an ad-free experience that can be enjoyed on your TV, mobile phone, tablets and online. Click the Kanopy icon to the right to either get started or go directly to the Kanopy.com website. 

Borrowing on Kanopy: 

  • Patrons can borrow up to five (5) films per month through play credits. 
  • Once a title is played, you have three (3) days to watch the film.
  • A film is considered played when it runs for 30 seconds, you can view it as many times as you like without using another play credit for those three days.
  • Play credits reset on the first of the month; when you reached your quota, you will not be able to play any films until your credits renew on the first of the next month. 
  • You can access Kanopy from any device, including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, and many more! 
  • Kanopy is for kids too! Kanopy Kids offers hundreds of educational and informational programs, read-along picture books, and much more. Select Kanopy Kids in the menu to get started. Kanopy Kids does not use any of your play credits and grants access to the entire Kanopy Kids section for thirty (30) days. 

Residency restrictions apply. Cardholders must be residents of Ida Grove or rural Ida County.


 

Hoopla

Available July 1, 2021! Hoopla offers a wide selection of  eBooks, audiobooks, comic books, music and movies through the Hoopla app or by visiting Hoopla in your web browser.  Hoopla can be enjoyed on your TV, mobile phone, tablets and online. Click the Hoopla icon to the left to either get started or go directly to the Hoopladigital.com website. 

Borrowing on Hoopla: 

  • Patrons can borrow up to four (4) titles per month. 
  • All titles are simultaneous use titles, no holds or waiting list. 
  • Checkout periods are by type of material and will be displayed on the item information page. 
  • Checkout credits reset on the first of the month; when you reach your monthly quota, you will not be able to borrow additional titles until your credits reset on the first of the next month. 
  • You can access Hoopla from any device, including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast and many more!

Residency restrictions apply. Cardholders must be residents of Ida Grove or rural Ida County.
