Simple Gifts: The Chamber Music Society at Shaker Village

Lincoln Center On Screen presents Simple Gifts: The Chamber Music Society at Shaker Village, a free screening at the Ida Grove Library

The Ida Grove Library will host the first screening in a new program, Lincoln Center On Screen, for the community on June 8, 2017 at 6pm.

The first screening, Simple Gifts: The Chamber Music Society at Shaker Village, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center takes to the road, performing in one of the country’s most beautiful historic sites: Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, Kentucky. Delivering a monumental performance of Copland's "Appalachian Spring," the ensemble draws poignant connections between life on the frontier, the art of making music, and the quest for transcendence in American life.

Simple Gifts: The Chamber Music Society at Shaker Village, performed at Tobacco Barn, Shaker Village, and recorded as part of Live From Lincoln Center on May 23, 2015

Major support for Lincoln Center On Screen is provided by the Oak Foundation and made available through a partnership with libraries, school and community service organizations to bring free screenings of world-class performances to neighborhoods across the country.

Seating for this screening is limited to 50, please call 364-2306 to reserve your seat.
